“Dr. Ropiak exhibited a high level of intelligence, was respectful, and even humorous at times, which helped my nervousness. After my having Xrays done, he reported I had massive arthritis in my arm. He then gave me great advice on how to control the pain and how to maintain overall wellness. I have had several cortisone shots over the years. I've been a patient at Reconstruction Ortho, and like the other doctors (Dr. Guttman being my favorite), he administered the injection, so there was no pain and treated it as a severe treatment. He was courteous, open to questions, and very informative regarding pain management. I would recommend him to anyone in need of similar treatment for shoulder issues.”

“When I first visited Dr. Robiak, I was scared to death. There are so many rumors saying that you only recover from shoulder replacement in 6 months to a year and during that time, all you do is have pain. Well, let me tell you, this is not true. There isn't pain after the initial 2 days after surgery. The condition of your shoulder after surgery depends on your doctor's skills, and what is originally wrong with your shoulder. I had both shoulders replaced in 2019. The first in March and the second in September. I had pain for at least 6 years before I went to see Dr. Robiak. I had many bone spurs in both shoulders (arthritis). My rotator cuff was not a problem on either shoulder. I stayed in the hospital over night on each surgery and then went home the next day. Within a week I was using my arm doing light things like eating and helping someone dress me. Everyday is a change in your shoulder as it gets well. No lifting until the doctor tells you to do this but the arm sling is used only in the first few days and then only at night so you don't roll onto the shoulder. The second shoulder was exactly like the first except it took a little longer on some of the movements. I received exercises from my physical therapist before the first surgery and did them throughout the whole process and continue to do them. I was released from Dr. Robiak December 30, 2019 for both shoulders. I started doing light exercises at the gym for my shoulders three weeks after each surgery including the original exercises. Meeting new people, they do not ever know I had shoulder replacement and when I say I did they have a problem understanding because I have no problem moving either shoulder. So all the rumors about how horrible it is to get your shoulders replaced are not true unless you do not do the exercises. THANKS to Dr. Robiak and continued exercise I am pain free on both shoulders.”
