“At my most recent appointment with Dr. Alci, he reviewed with me, the process of placing the Nevro Spinal Stimulator device in my back permanently. I had started this process several months ago, after several epidural injections by Dr. Alci, and several months of physical therapy. Dr. Alci performed some minor surgery to place the wires for the Nevro device in my back so I could try the tool for a week-long trial basis, which was quite successful. Unfortunately, I was not able to complete the process of having the permanent device implanted because I had to leave SC and go north to WV for the summer months. I just returned to SC at the beginning of November. Since it had been more than six months since I had seen Dr. Alci, I got told that the surgery to permanently place the Nevro Spinal Stimulator in my back could not get scheduled until I saw Dr. Alci again for re-evaluation. I was surprised and had some concern that Dr. Alci did not x-ray my back yet, even though I told him it was much worse than when I had left SC at the end of March. While in WV, I returned to the spinal surgeon, who had performed a multi-level back fusion on me and had him do several epidural injections as a temporary measure of pain relief. The doses were short-lived, and the temporary pain relief has since worn off. I am anxiously awaiting the implant of the Nevro Spinal Stimulator, which should get scheduled as soon as Dr. Alci receives clearances from my primary care doctor, my nephrologist, and my cardiologist. Dr. Alci is a superior spinal surgeon. I have the utmost confidence in him and trust his professional opinions and advice. My husband and now, most recently, our daughter are also patients of Dr. Alci.”

“Initially, I saw Dr. Tyler Noble because he had previously seen me for a knee problem about a year ago. After listening to my current severe pain complaints that I was experiencing in my right hip and upper and lower right leg, if I took even 2-3 steps, Dr. Noble ordered an MRI. When he received the MRI results, he referred me to Dr. Alci. Dr. Alci saw me and explained that I had suffered a severely herniated disc between L2 and L3 and that Dr. Tyler recommended surgery. As he did this, he told me what type of procedure was needed, the risks involved, the expected success rate, and the expected time of recovery. Two weeks ago, I had a discectomy and laminectomy and fusion. The severe pain I had been experiencing was gone the morning after surgery. Now two weeks after surgery, I still have some back pain better described as discomfort off and on where the surgery got performed. I can walk around with a walker longer distances or a cane for shorter lengths of 75-100 yards. Every day things get better. I hope to be able to drive short miles within the next week and look forward to a complete recovery in the next 6-8 weeks. I would recommend Dr. Alci to anyone with back issues.”
