“I had suffered for years with IT Band friction syndrome/ lateral knee pain unresponsive to 10 years of conservative care. I had researched the different types of surgical procedures for my situation several years earlier. I felt that the best choice was a pie crusting lengthening technique about the lateral femoral condyle of the knee. I was so pleased to find out that I didn’t have to travel to an out-of-state surgeon to have this procedure done. Dr. Jelinek was already on board with doing this procedure, and I said, “Please do this for me. “ Surgery was done in 2021 in the Lewis/Clark Surgery Center. Dr. Jelinek went the extra mile to ensure all my concerns were addressed. He also performed Platelet Rich Plasma Regenerative Injection into my surgical site for increased healing potential. This surgery is not that common, but for patients that meet the criteria, it is an excellent surgery to reduce/end the pain of a chronic too tight IT Band that had affected my knee, my Greater Trochanter of the hip, and my low back. Because I am a patient advocate through my own extensive medical journey of 25+ orthopedic surgeries performed around this country, as shared on my own personal blog website, I know what it means to have excellent care, and I do not pass out compliments lightly. However, when a surgeon shows kindness, compassion, and a willingness to really listen to what concerns a patient and does their best to offer their surgical skill to better a patient’s quality of life, I am won over by that surgeon. Dr. Jelinek won me over and deserved the highest praise and heartfelt thanks for improving my quality of life and ending years of IT Band pain. God bless you.”
