“Having surgery is never something that I do not look forward to. It includes pain, downtime, and unknowns. But UOS has made the surgery experience much better than I imagined it would be. After Dr. Eilerman's diagnosis, consolations, and scheduling of my hip replacement, the staff provided unparalleled service by giving me the preparation instructions and information needed to understand what to expect and prepare me physically. They also followed up with reminder calls to make sure I understood and answer any questions. All of this is just the warmup to the main event where Dr. Eilerman performs a blockbuster performance of replacing my damaged hip with a new prosthetic joint. I cannot tell you how he does it, but I can tell you that my recovery was quick. The surgery was Thursday morning, and by Saturday afternoon, I took my last major pain meds and relied only on Tylenol. That, to me, was amazing! My recovery was quicker than I thought. Thank you, Dr. Eilerman, and your staff.”

“From the time I step into this office, everyone was very friendly and helpful, from the registration clerks to the nursing staff, to the surgery schedulers. They go out of their way to make you feel welcomed and to make sure that you are comfortable and well informed. I can not begin to describe how wonderful Dr. Eilerman is. I needed two new hips. My friend recommended him and since I was rather new to the area I thought I would schedule a visit. I sure am glad I did. He is an excellent surgeon with a great “bedside manner”. He never makes you feel rushed and always is willing to answer all your questions and concerns. An exceptional experience. I could never say enough about this physician and his office. If you need hip surgery this is your guy.”

“I had significant discomfort in my right hip. After several cortisone shots, Dr. Eilerman said it was time to replace my hip. The pain was getting terrible, so I agreed. The surgery was a huge success. Almost no pain from the surgery, and I took my first steps two hours later! I went home the next day and was able to walk with a walker for support for two weeks then graduated to a cane. At the end of five weeks, I saw the doctor and was doing so fantastic I didn’t have to come back unless a problem occurred. I am pain-free and wish I had done it sooner! Thank you, Dr. Eilerman & staff!”

“After three years of chronic hip pain, I met with Dr. Eilerman in January. We decided to replace the left hip in mid-April, but due to COVID, we rescheduled to mid-June. The surgery went very well, and I only needed pain pills the first day after. I had very little pain after the surgery and shed the walker after four days and the cane after ten days. I just had my second followup meeting with Dr. Eilerman today and can go forward with "no restrictions." I am 3 days short of 8 weeks following the surgery and couldn't be happier. Dr. Eilerman, his staff, and the workers at UT Hospital could not have been better. I would highly recommend Dr. Eilerman for hip replacement surgery.”

“After having two bad experiences in knee replacements, I was very hesitant to consider a hip replacement. However, a neighbor highly recommended Dr. Eilerman, and I am so thankful she did. The new mobility is terrific. The pain was very manageable after surgery and my recovery swift. Grateful to Dr. Eilerman and his staff at UOS.”

“In December, I had my 2nd hip replacement. A friend had hers replaced by Dr. Eilerman in 2012 with great success. She boasted about his front access procedure that was innovative and required specialized skills and equipment many doctors did not have. In part because of her experience and recommendation, I wanted no one but Dr. Eilerman to operate on me. I am quite qualified to make this testimonial. Some years earlier, in 2011, I had my first hip replacement got done in New Delhi, India, due to my lack of insurance and their low cost. I researched and found they had lower infection rates than the US at that time. My doctor would be a former brigadier general with experience of 25,000 joint replacements. The hospital was premier by western standards. Despite this, something went wrong with mine, and I ended up with a limp from a damaged nerve. Perhaps unrelated, their method was conventional from the side, and at the time, I did not know there was an option- at least over there. The post-op precautions for side-access operations are so much more complicated, prolonged, and risky. I had to be careful bending; I wasn’t to cross my legs. I had to put a pillow between my legs during sleep for proper healing. None of this got required for Dr. Eilerman's frontal method on my 2nd hip. As a result, their precautions were simple. "Do what you are comfortable doing and no more." I was up and about the same evening. I was using a walker outside the next day or two and walking carefully but confidently on my own in a few days. In short, I was amazed at how easy it all was and how well I healed. At five months, I feel 100%, although I think total internal healing may take a year. In the months preceding the need for the 2nd hip replacement, I was, of course, very cautious and concerned about the prospect, given my experience in India. Also, my back was bothering me, so I thought it would be futile to have a hip replacement if the back pain continued to make walking difficult. Dr. Eilerman had an MRI done on my back and felt the back pain would improve with the better functioning of the new hip. He ended up being spot on. But he did not push me to have the bone done. He told me to think about it for a couple of months. He gave me the impression that a decision to proceed was solely mine, and I had to make it, not him. I had to be sure. That is not just ethical and safer for him. It is my opinion it is always better for a patient to research and come to their conclusion and take full responsibility for their health and health decisions. Don't defer life-critical decisions solely to anyone else no matter how expert they seem. Trust your health and your life only to yourself and then make sure you do the research upfront to ensure you have a good outcome instead of looking for compensation later because of your neglect when you choose someone who followed the rules and did their best, but it just wasn't good enough. I can thoroughly recommend Dr. Eilerman, UOS, and UT Hospital. After you do your research, I am sure you will agree they are your best option and you will be comfortable with that.”

“Dr. Eilerman passed on a chance to perform a hip(s) replacement because he did not think that was my issue even though another Ortho surgeon had diagnosed as a replacement. Dr. Eilerman was correct; I had vertebrae osteomyelitis. He will forever get high recommendations and referrals from me.”
