“I came in for knee pain that I've been struggling with several years due to running. In past years I've trained for and run a couple of marathons - often logging 40-50 miles per week. In the last two years or so - I've reduced this to 10-15 miles per week, slowing down and reducing to every other day to try to keep my knees from hurting. Dr. Federle suggested it was finally time to give up running and switch to an activity that reduced the impact on my joints - swimming, recumbent bike, elliptical, etc. I've retired my treadmill and switched to an elliptical machine at home beginning early April. I'm back to 40 mins per day nearly every day, weight, cholesterol, and blood pressure all dropping. And my knees feel better than they have in years. Thanks for the advice.”
